About Gary Williams

Magic Murals is delighted to add a collection of modern, minimalist, mid-century poster art inspired wallpaper murals by artist Gary Williams to our offerings. From geometric figures to an enigmatic cat, his art will provide a bit of color and a touch of class to your décor. His influence by master abstractionist Wassily Kandinsky and Bauhaus artists is evident.

Gary grew up drawing and painting with a passion to create. He continued his creative passions as he got older in music and spent most of his twenties in various bands and groups living a bohemian rock ’n’ roll lifestyle. As the music came to a stand still, he picked up the art bug again and also spent time as a graphic designer.

Today he is inspired by simple Geometric design, especially the styles of Mid Century Modern, Suprematism, Scandi Nordic and Modern art. Rather than focus on one set style, he tends to jump from one self initiated project to another and generally creates a series of work in that style before moving on to the next new thing.

Gary was born into a working class family with a ship building father, a stay at home mother and an older brother. He grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England and continues to call the area home.
