Wallpaper Murals by Roman Robroek
Roman Robroek is an Urban Photographer from the Netherlands who travels the world and focuses his lens on the grandeur of abandoned places, decaying buildings and forgotten landmarks. Among his collection of wallpaper murals you’ll find grand entryways and staircases of magnificent mansions that have lost some of their glory, abandoned factories from the 19th and 20th century that have a certain steampunk appeal and all manners of formerly decadent beauty from across Europe and across the centuries.
According to Roman, Abandoned places offer us a glimpse into the past. A source of reflection, perhaps, as they prompt us to think about the future.” His Bio includes this statement: “When Roman started his Urban photography journey, he mostly saw empty, abandoned and decayed buildings. It didn’t take long before curiosity struck him. What was the story behind those buildings? Who used to live there? What purpose did these objects serve and why were they abandoned? For Roman, the opportunity to take a peek behind closed doors is a truly unique experience, both relaxing and enticing at the same time. He specializes in uniquely capturing interiors and exteriors of a variety of buildings working with natural light only.”
His works are licensed through Out of the Blue Licensing.
