About Ty Stockton

Magic Murals is delighted to add the cowboy, rodeo and American West photographs of Ty Stockton to our collection of murals.

Ty grew up in central Wyoming, a stone’s throw from the Wind River. He spent his formative years exploring the river bottoms, as well as the Wind River Range and the Bridger-Teton National Forest, where he gained an early love for the natural world.

He came late to photography, having to learn on the fly during his time as the Outdoors Editor at the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle newspaper in Cheyenne, Wyoming, but he quickly became engrossed in the pursuit of perfect light.

Ty earned his Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association credentials in 2016, and he added rodeo photography to his portfolio of nature, landscape, wildlife and Western subjects.

He lives on the high plains of southeast Wyoming with his wife, two sons, four dogs, horses, cattle, chickens, pigs, and a couple of barn cats.
