5 Steps To An Amazing Mural Installation

Step-By-Step Custom Mural Installation By Our Wonderful Customer – Steve B.

aka What To Do With That Recessed Niche In The Entryway

Many, many thanks to Steve B. of Calimesa, California who ordered a custom-sized (70″ high x 52″ wide) wallpaper wall mural of our Mission Vineyard by Clifton Hadfield III on October 23rd and, by October 30th, had already received it, installed it, and sent us these awesome step-by-step photographs of his installation. We just LOVE LOVE LOVE customers who share their murals with us like this!

Now, to be honest, Steve’s installation is considerably more complex than those of most of our customers. Steve tells us:

We had an old, rustic wooden window frame with a wrought iron design.  We wanted to frame a piece of art under it and place it on the wall within a 4-inch deep niche in our entry hallway.  After reviewing literally hundreds of pieces of art on-line we settled on your “Mission Vineyard” with a custom size that would correlate with the size of our frame.

Steve’s photos below show his 5 phases of this very unique installation:

1. Initial alignment on the wall
2. Mural installation on the wall
3. Sub-frame installation
4. Window frame installation
5. Final
While many of you will not have an ornate, 3-paneled frame with wrought iron inserts to enhance your mural, you can see in picture 3 that just using some framing lumber creates an excellent finish for our large art prints that aren’t quite full-sized wall murals. And – don’t tell the picture framing shops this – you can do it at a fraction of the price of a custom picture frame.
