The sun casts an amber glow on the grapes as they grow succulent and ripe for the picking at San Miguel Mission. Mission San Miguel Arcangel was founded in 1797 by Frair Fermin Francisco de Lasuen and is named for Saint Michael the Arcangel. San Miguel was the 16th of 23 missions in alta California. The missions were a favorite subject of the artist Clif Hadfield. Oil Painting © Clifton Hadfield III. Represented by Rich Wiseman, LLC
