Governor's Mansion, Montgomery, Alabama. 2010. Built in 1907 by Robert Fulwood Ligon, Jr., the Governor's Mansion was acquired as a residence for its governors in 1911. The state of Alabama actually bought the house for $100,000 in 1950. The neoclassical structure is one of Montgomery's most elegant homes.
