Llamas are interesting creatures. They can carry packs, like horses do, and they grow wool that is as useful as sheep’s wool. They’re prone to fits of persnicketiness, though, and they’ve been known to express their displeasure by spitting on whatever annoys them – other llamas, dogs, llama owners or photographers. This male llama, or buck, lives on a Colorado ranch that was narrowly missed by a wildfire that rolled through a year before the photo was taken. You can still see the destruction caused by the fire on the hills in the background. But wildfires bring renewal even as they devour all in their path. By spring, those hills will be a verdant emerald green as the new growth emerges from the fire-fertilized soil. © Ty Stockton. Represented by Rich Wiseman, LLC.
